Annual General Meeting – 2016
The next Annual General Meeting of the Hawkenbury Village Association will be held as follows:
SHERBORNE COMMUNITY HALL
ON
THURSDAY 28TH APRIL 2016
AT
8.00 PM.
The objective of the Hawkenbury Village Association is:
“The Association exists to promote and further the interest of The Village;
it is non political and non sectarian”
What does the Hawkenbury Village Association do?
The HVA engaged a planning consultant and made representations on behalf of The Village to the
Planning Authorities regarding the current Development Plan proposals, particularly in respect of
Hawkenbury Farm.
The HVA has worked with TWBC in the provision of additional children’s play facilities and adult gym
equipment at Hawkenbury Rec.
The HVA has two representatives on the Tunbridge Wells Planning Forum.
Further challenges lie ahead when the planning Authorities present their next Development Plan
Proposals which have now been commenced.
Within the broad remit of the “Objectives” the HVA can provide a focus for other activities within The
Village.
The HVA have spent 2 years petitioning and eventually succeeding in obtaining an electronic speed
warning sign on Forest Road.
The HVA arranged, together with TWBC to have “Hawkenbury” signs placed on Forest Road, Halls Hole
Road and Bayhall Road.
Become part of the committee.
If you wish the work of the HVA to continue please come to the AGM and consider joining the committee. Without new and enthusiastic committee members it will be difficult for the Association to continue and it may be necessary to inaugurate the
winding up procedure of the HVA in the coming year.
Nominations 14 days before the AGM to Jenny Foy, 2 Chieveley Drive, Hawkenbury or complete the form below to email her. In the event insufficient nominations are received nominations will be accepted from the floor.
Other news
New street lamps
You may have noticed several new lampposts have been installed on Forest Road and also on several adjacent roads. The lights are LED and if you feel the intensity is too bright for your house/area you can call KCC Highways and apply for the brightness to be reduced.
Local Rep
We need a rep for Camden Park, Tiese Close and The Shaw -about 30 houses -to call every quarter to deliver newsletters and collect subs once a year.
