Hawkenbury Village goes digital
Those of you lucky enough to have received your summer newsletter, will have seen the article that the village association is going digital. After 24 years of collecting membership fees at the door, we have moved our membership payment system online. You can now join the HVA directly on the website.
Over the years, our habits have changed and fewer of us are at home during the day. This has made the work of our dedicated road representatives harder as they have to go back to the same property multiple times to collect the membership fee. Many of us don’t always have cash to hand and some of us no longer even have cheque books.
Debit / Credit card payments
Now you can join the HVA 24 hours a day, using your debit or credit card. If you have an existing PayPal account, it is even faster.
If you prefer to use a cheque, you can do this too. Simply register online (link below) and select a cheque as a payment method. Send your £5 cheque to the membership secretary and we will activate your membership, once it is received.
If you have already paid your road representative this year, then please continue to register below and select Road Rep as your payment option. We’ll go through the receipts and update your membership appropriately.
We also want to communicate faster with our members and email is the way to do that. Often, a planning application or issue will have a consultation period of 4-6 weeks. That is not enough time to produce a newsletter and distribute it in order to inform members of issues. Going forward we will send out notices and the newsletter by email. We will continue to use our road representatives to drop newsletters to those members who do not access to email.
I hope that you will continue to support the Hawkenbury Village Association. We are in for a busy time once the building work on the 235 homes starts. There is also the expansion of the recreation ground to keep an eye on. Further land around Hawkenbury has also been put forward for possible future development. You can find out more about what we do on the HVA page.
If you have never joined, please consider doing so. Membership is £5 per household per year and is renewable between April and July every year. We look forward to welcoming you.
