Use of S106 Monies
In response to the call for suggestions for the use of S106 monies, resident Ben Hallett has put forward a proposal for a ‘Pump Track’ on the old bowling green site in the Rec.
A Pump Track is a continuous circuit of banked turns interspaced by rollers and other features that can be ridden on a bike, scooter, rollerblades or skateboard . Riders create momentum via up and down pumping movements. It is an excellent form of exercise for people of all ages and abilities.
We have a Facebook page:- https://www.facebook.com/pumptrack4hawkenbury/ and we would value resident’s feedback on the Pump Track that we can use to support our Proposal to the TWBC. We will be at the Rec, next to the children’s Play area, on the afternoon of 2nd July to showcase a Pump Track and seek your views.
Parking for AXA PPP Employees around Hawkenbury
Graham Trueman, Head of Property Services and Outputs at AXA PPP, says that the extension at International House has finally been completed and is fully occupied. AXA PPP Healthcare has implemented a lot of different measures to try and reduce parking on the neighbouring roads and will continue to focus on parking as an important aspect of their property management.
Improvements made so far:
- £47,500 paid for employee bus journeys In the last 6 months
- Employee car sharing increased to 11% (up 4% on 2016)
- New parking management system reallocating, on average, 50 empty parking bays a day.
- Single car commuting reduced from 72% to 60%.
- They took note of feedback from local residents and have lobbied the Council to apply yellow lines to dangerous areas of the surrounding roads.
- Made enquiries for parking attendants to patrol affected areas more often.
Please let us know if you see someone parking inappropriately by calling 07775012883. Please tell us where the car is, the colour, registration plate details and, where possible, take a photo of the car (including registration plate). Our Security Team will check records to see if the car belongs to one of our employees. If we can identify the owner we will tell them to
move their poorly parked vehicle immediately. Please email any photo to: Security Health.
Directions to the Rec Car Park
We have been in discussion with KCC Highways Department about provision of new road signs to direct visitors to the Rec car park. It is intended that this will reduce the number of cars trying to access the Rec via Dorset Road and having to enter Sherborne Close in order to turn around. The source of funding is yet to be agreed but we hope the work may be put in hand shortly.
New Committee Members
We are looking for pro-active residents to be Committee members who can help us take the HVA into the 21st century as we will be shortly digitising our database, subscriptions and Newsletter (for those that are comfortable using a computer and the internet), others can continue to receive the printed Newsletter. Overall, we aim to increase visibility and improve communications.
