Streetlights. On or off?
Kent County Council are in the process of converting all their street lights to Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology. This should reduce the emissions by 60% and save an estimated £5.2 million a year.
The council are asking for our views on the level of street lighting provided, as part of a 10-week consultation. Currently, some street lights around Hawkenbury and the rest of the county are switched off between midnight and 5am.
Part of the consultation addresses this issue. Would you prefer all-night lighting or part-night lighting?
If you would like to know more or comment regarding the consultation, visit Kent County Council Street Lighting Consultation. Submissions must be made by 29 November 2015.
