We need your help
The Hawkenbury Village Association is run by a group of volunteer committee members and we are looking for local residents to join us on the committee to help continue the work we do. Without volunteers, the Village Association cannot function.
The committee meets every 6 to 8 weeks throughout the year. The meetings are normally around 2 hours and there is some work to be done between meetings. We are looking to fill the following vacancies on the committee at the moment.
Membership Secretary – The membership secretary is responsible for keeping the membership lists up to date, capturing the information from members who have sent in cheques and updating those details on the website, so that members can log in. The membership secretary will contact members where their membership is about to lapse.
Press Secretary – The press secretary is responsible for writing articles for our village website, that also feeds our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Articles covering everything from line painting to building sites to summer picnics. There may be some liaison with local newspapers, journalists and other websites. The role is very flexible and you will be able to make it your own.
Webmaster – The webmaster will be responsible for the village website (WordPress), our Facebook and Twitter accounts. In conjunction the press secretary, you will ensure that published articles are uploaded to our various social media accounts. You will liaise with the newsletter team and the membership secretary and maintain our members mailing list (Mailchimp). There is scope for a Instagram account.
If you are interested in joining the committee and taking on one of these roles, please send an email to chairman@hawkenburyvillage.co.uk and we can take it from there.
We hope to welcome a few new volunteers onto the committee.
